Why yes, that is mascara running down my cheeks. #HAWT

October 28, 2015

I’m back at Aspire!!

Remember how your Mom always said to male sure you didn’t “over due it” when you were recovering from being sick, otherwise it would take twice as long to get better?

Mom was right. That sound you just heard was my Mother where ever she is high 5’ing all her friends.

I was sick September 21st and honestly haven’t been 100% until this past week!!  Mostly because I kept trying to push things and get back into Aspire and work .. and life at the pace I am accustomed to.

Seriously bad call; and I kept getting knocked back into bed.

I am out the other side now! 5 pounds heavier but happy to be moving forward.

I pounded out a solid hour on the bike the other day. It was following a very busy day at work with a quick video shoot.. which I got all dolled up for (hello mascara and lip gloss) which I forgot I had on.

The sweat was pouring off me as I gave all I had on that bike. Yup. I became THAT girl.

thatgirl

I was wondering why everyone kept looking at me strangely. I burst into crazed laughter when I walked into the change room and happened to look into the mirror.  Le sigh. So here is the lesson.. that girl with the make up running down her face.. might be totally unaware of what is happening and is just trying to get her sweat on. Be kind. 😉

Surfing For Smiles 2015 The Day After

September 14, 2015

It’s the next day and I have a wake surf hangover.

I hurt. I am tired.

I am so very very happy!

Fund-raising for Surfing For Smiles 2015 in support of Kids Care will wrap up at the end of September.

When that happens I will post a full video more pictures and an extensive list of thank you’s!

Right now I just want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone that has been there from the beginning!

Kevin Isabey and Rayburns Marine, Alexandra and Lake Okanagan Reality, Kate and Posh Jewelry, the team at Aspire Health and Performance, my partner in crime at Q103.1 John Stone and of course my partner in love Steve Weckstrom!

We have reached the initially goal of $10,000 and are hoping that by the end of the month we will be closer to $15,000!

The wonderful people at Bijou Skin Health Care are donating partial proceeds of all treatments and product until the end of the month and the Kelowna JCI’s are holding the Foot Golf open on September 25th which will be a blast!!

You can also still donate on line (yes you will get a tax receipt) just text: SURF to 250-868-1031 for the link.. or click —> HERE

Here I am arriving in Penticton after 8 and a half hours behind the boat!

Sooooo close….

July 30, 2015

It appears Susan is getting her groove back. Which is also a great excuse to bring out this classic…

I am so very close to a personal victory at Aspire Health and Performance. All that sweating is paying off along with some adjustments to what I am eating,  I can sense that one of my first victories is coming up fast. Andrew and I have also done some lifting and I am not nearly as far off my former strength as I had feared!

As you work on one part of your life, in a heathy and intentful way (is intentful a real word? Well it is now) it’s amazing how other parts of your life start to fall in line. It becomes easier to create the change you need, because you are learning that you can create change and it isn’t as scary as you may have imagined.

Step by step it is happening. My confidence on air is returning, I am making sure I get enough sleep, I am entering triathlons, and planning 10 hour fundraising wake surf’s from one end of the lake to another.

I am also taking stock of what I want, and how it is going to happen.

I am not a woman that wears a bunch of makeup. When I do it is usually a big event or a photo shoot. When I am not feeling great about my skin I also try to even things out ~ this usually happens in the winter.  Over the years I have learned that if I want to look healthy in the colder months I need to make sure I address the abuse I put my skin through in the summer, and I need to do it sooner over later.

We are all in this together and I should share! I met this super cool, beautiful woman with skin that was exactly what I wanted, at first I thought she was just a make up master but it turns out she is a skin master! I love the idea that make up can be used as an accent and for fun rather than to cover up what you want to hide.  Kathryn also didn’t shy away from the Okanagan lifestyle, no need to hide from the sun… but you have to treat the damage rather than band aid it.. so I am going for it!

Off to Bijou I go! I had a facial and a Venus Freeze treatment and am on a regiment of ZO Skin Care.. will it work? It will be pretty obvious either way!

Not the best photo but it will get things started; here is my face after week 1!
